The Better Business Bureau (BBB) is perhaps the most trusted name that customers turn to when looking for a business that they can trust. Roof replacement contractor ReNew Home Designs is proud to have maintained a consistent A plus rating with the BBB. In this blog, we discuss the importance of this rating and what this means for us and our customers.
Better Business Bureau Ratings
BBB ratings represent how the BBB views how a business is likely to interact with its customers, with A plus as the highest rating and F as the lowest. Sometimes a business may not receive a rating (as indicated by NR or “No Rating”) if they have insufficient information about the business or if the same business is undergoing a review.
Customer reviews are not factored into BBB ratings but are based on seven rating elements:
Complaint History With BBB — The BBB takes into account not just the number of complaints filed against them. Among other considerations, they also consider how the business responds to these complaints, if they’ve made the effort to resolve them and how long it has taken the company to act on these types of feedback.
Type of Business — The rating can be lowered if the business is the type that raises marketplace concerns or if it’s believed to be operating in violation of the law.
Time in Business — The BBB takes into account how long the company has been in business.
Transparent Business Practices — Companies such as roofers can gain a higher rating if they practice transparency in their marketplace conduct, such as listing their complete products and services, having a legitimate business address and owning the company.
Failure to Honor Commitments to the BBB — Such commitments include abiding by a mediation settlement or arbitration award.
Licensing and Government Actions Known to BBB — A business has to have the correct licenses and completed all assessments required to obtain such. A rating may be lowered if there are known government actions against the said business.
Advertising Issues Known to BBB — The BBB rating can be lowered if the business commits advertising issues such as misuse of BBB trademarks, questionable marketing practices and customer complaints against the business’s advertisements.
